Union Minister Bandi Sanjay assures SGTU leaders on right to vote in MLC elections

KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 16, 2024: The Secondary Grade Teachers Union (SGTU) Telangana state unit has urged Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar to provide voting rights to the teachers working in primary and upper primary schools for the MLC teachers constituency elections in the Telangana state.

The SGTU leaders led by its state president K Mahipal Reddy, general secretary A Venkatesham and others met the Union Minister in Karimnagar town on Monday and submitted a memorandum in this regard. They stated in a memorandum that more than 65,000 SGs were working in the entire Telangana state, but they do not have the right to vote in the MLC elections for Teachers Constituency. If they are given the right to vote in the MLC elections they could raise their voice to get their demands fulfilled, the SGTU leaders stated and urged the Union Minister to look into the issue.

The Union Minister assured to ensure that they would secure the right to vote in the MLC elections. He also promised to ensure that the promotions were taken up as per seniority. The SGTU leaders S Madhusudhan Rao, D Srinivas Reddy, V Vijender Reddy, G Shekhar, Haripriya, Rohini Devi, Srinivas, Sridhar Reddy, Prabhakar, Ramakrishna, Shanthi Kiran, Praveen Reddy, Jalapathi Reddy, Mohinuddin, Sudhakar, Narsaiah and others were also present.
