“Doctors hold hands with miracles, turning despair into hope.”
HYDERABAD, JUNE 30, 2025: National Doctor’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm by the students of The Play School, Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, on Monday. Students participated in various activities such as role-play, show-and-tell, model making, poem and article writing. These contributions were a salute to the doctors working at the forefront amid the pandemic.

It may be recalled that July 1 is observed as National Doctors’ Day to mark the birthday of the famous doctor, Dr. Bidan Chandra Roy, who was born in Kolkata in 1882 and was the recipient of the topmost civilian honour, Bharath Ratna, by the then Government of India.
The celebration was marked by various engaging activities. Students sang a beautiful song about Doctors. A mesmerizing dance followed this to express gratitude to the doctors. Little Niveditans dressed up as Doctors belonging to different specializations spoke about what each Specialization indicates. The Play School team and students organized a “Medical Camp,” where students took the role of doctors and sincerely performed their duties, checking everyone who visited the camp. They mimicked the responsibilities of doctors, using toy medical kits to “treat”. It was a spectacular show to watch the tiny tots performing their roles, leaving the visitors speechless. This activity not only brought joy and laughter but also gave the children a glimpse into the world of medicine. It also fosters respect for the medical profession, but also helps in building empathy and understanding among young learners.
The event aimed to instil appreciation for doctors in young minds and to acknowledge their relentless efforts, especially in recent times.
The Principal, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, congratulated all the little Niveditans and thanked the doctors for their dedication and tireless efforts in ensuring our health and well-being. Encouraged students to develop qualities like empathy, service, and dedication, which are essential for both doctors and individuals striving for a healthy and fulfilling life.
The Chairman of the school, Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polsani, and the Correspondent of the school, Rtn. Hari Hara Prasad also extended their wishes and acknowledged the sacrifices doctors make, working long hours and facing challenging situations to care for others. They also emphasized the importance of a holistic approach to health, encouraging everyone to consider not just physical well-being but also mental and emotional health.
Happy Doctor’s Day to all the doctors around the world. The care and service they provide us deserves to be acknowledged and respected at all costs.
