Science fair celebrated on the eve of National Mathematics Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan
KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 21, 2024: As a prelude to the birth anniversary of great mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, which is observed on December 22, the students of Achievers Active High School, Kothirampur, Karimnagar town, captivated the visitors with their creativity and brilliance in maths and science subjects during the Educational science fair titled ‘Avishkaar’ organised on the school campus on Saturday.
The celebrations began with the lighting of lamp and offering of floral tributes to the portrait of Srinivasa Ramanujan by school Director Ch Venkateshwarlu Principal Ch Pallavi and other faculty members. Later, they visited every science exhibit displayed by the students and interacted with the students to know about the science model and their creativity.
On this occasion, the students displayed various complexities of mathematics, types of angles, prime numbers and their uses etc. They also displayed models on Chandrayaan, Mission Mangalayaan, and Samudrayaan. Biodiversity and environment conservation were explained experimentally by the students. The students performed dances, dramas and Ramanujan number 1729 related to mathematics.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ch Venkateshwarlu said, “Mathematics must not be studied only with a vision of making a career out of it, but as part of our lives. Practical use of the subject develops interest among students. Maths is a part of our lives. Be it buying simple household items or attempting the competitive examination, there is a practical use of it”. The parents of the students had arrived in large numbers to witness the science fair and interacted with the students.
