KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 28, 2024: To raise their understanding of the police department and how it operates, students from ST George Nino’s Block (CBSE) in Karimnagar were taken on a visit to a police station by the management on Saturday.
The Tiny Tots visited the Karimnagar Three Town police station where they were sensitised to the faces of law abidance and the method of reporting crimes they come across. Inspector Janny Reddy and ASI Abdullah, who interacted with the students, explained the significance of police services to the students and also created awareness of traffic rules.
Later, the students were taken around the police station, the lock-up and the chambers of the inspector and sub-inspector. The utility of the walkie-talkie was also demonstrated. The children asked questions like how they catch a thief, how the control room and wireless work very effectively etc. The police officials explained the various responsibilities to provide safety for communities and to protect the safety of individuals. The children were also empowered about the importance of dialling 100 during emergencies to seek police assistance.
The children learned about the duties of a police officer including those when he is on patrol and when is at the station.
Chairman P Fathima Reddy emphasized that experiential learning helps students learn better and expressed the desire for more such field trips. He appreciated the efforts of In-charge Sangeetha. This educational outing aimed to broaden students’ understanding of law enforcement. He said that the field trips are also an effective way to reinforce book learning and help children remember important information.
