
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 05, 2026: SRR Government Arts & Science College (Autonomous) in Karimnagar town was selected as the ‘Best State-Level College’ as part of an eco-friendly project initiative conducted by the state government under the auspices of the Telangana State Pollution Control Board.
College Principal, Professor Kalvakunta Ramakrishna, along with Assistant Professor of Botany, NSS PO Padala Tirupathi, received this prestigious award from State Minister for Environment and Forests Konda Surekha at a programme organised in Hyderabad on Friday.
The Forest Minister inquired about the college’s eco-friendly initiatives and praised their efforts. She further suggested organising more environment-friendly activities on a larger scale. Assistant Professor of Botany, Padala Tirupathi, participated in this programme.
The event was attended by several high-ranking officials, including: Ahmad Nadeem, Principal Secretary, Department of Forests, Guguloth Ravi, Member Secretary, State Pollution Control Board; W.G. Prasanna Kumar, Senior Professor, State Pollution Control Board; Nageswara Rao – Project Officer; Satyanarayana & Vijayalakshmi– Members of the Pollution Control Board.
On this occasion, the Principal of SRR College noted that the services of Kadaru Surender Reddy, who has been dedicatedly working towards plant conservation in the college, are highly commendable. He stated that this award is a reflection of the hard work put in by the college staff, as well as the NSS and NCC volunteers, and extended his heartfelt congratulations to them. The Principal also stated that the college will organise many more programs for environmental protection in the future.
The teaching and non-teaching staff congratulated the leadership on this achievement. Among those who extended their wishes were: Kadaru Surender Reddy – Joint Action Committee (JAC) President, Nitin Pathak & Thallapalli Rajaiah – Vice Principals, Professor Tirukovela Srinivas – Controller of Examinations & Head of the Botany Department, Mallaram Srinivasa Reddy – Staff Club Secretary, Harijyothi Kaur – IQAC Coordinator, Mamidipalli Satya Prakash– Ambedkar University Coordinator, Uma Rani – Administrative Officer, Meesala Malla Reddy* – Additional Controller, Tandra Karunakar, Madhu Rajesh – UGC and PG Coordinator, Asampalli Nagaraju, and others.
Principal Kalvakunta Ramakrishna concluded by stating that achieving this award was made possible through the collective cooperation of Kadaru Surender Reddy, the college NSS and NCC units, Eco-Club officers, volunteers, various department heads, and the non-teaching staff.
