Spectrum-A Solution Squad (S3), an interdisciplinary fair conducted at SNS

A Mega Science Expo: Students creativity to the fore

HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 30, 2024: In order to give a platform for the students to display their creativity and knowledge acquired in academics, Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, conducted a mega Science Expo (Spectrum-a Solution Squad (S3), an interdisciplinary fair, to Ignite, Involve and Invent on Wednesday.

From the precision of Mathematics and the wonders of Science to the cutting-edge realm of robotics, students showcased their prowess in various subjects. The primary aim of the Expo was to promote interest in Science and Technology, encourage students to develop a scientific temper and instil 21st-century skills such as experiential learning and hands-on activities.

Mr. C. Dharmender Rao, District Science Officer, Hyderabad, inaugurated the expo and presided over the event. The occasion was graced by Mrs. T. Radhika, Principal of Hindu Public School. Mrs. S.G. Sunitha, Principal of Little Scholar School, lit the ceremonial lamp.

All students participated by preparing exhibits and giving demonstrations of their projects. To foster holistic development, students from Classes I to V collaborated on projects, while older students worked on more specialized topics:

  • Class VI showcased innovative ideas on Food Health and Hygiene, Science in Daily Life, Sustainable Development, and Water Conservation.
  • Class VII presented models on Climate Change and Sustainable Biofuels.
  • Class VIII created projects focusing on Natural Farming, Renewable Energy, and Eco Innovation for a Better Tomorrow.
  • Class IX developed innovative solutions around Food Security, Communication and Transport, and Micromania.
  • Class X used technology to highlight insightful ideas on Biodiversity and a Sustainable Future for India.

A major highlight of the Expo was the Planetarium, a virtual reality program engineered by senior secondary students. Additional stalls run by these students promoted health awareness by conducting discounted health tests. Visitors also enjoyed a variety of hygienically prepared food items served hot by the students, which received much appreciation.

The Chairman, Dr. Sudhakar Rao Polsani, praised the students for their creativity and innovative projects. The Correspondent, Rtn. M. Harihara Prasad, and Principal, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, were pillars of support and a source of inspiration throughout the planning and execution of the event. As the Head of Department Mrs. Pranitha Rohini took up the responsibility for the smooth proceedings of the science expo. The success of the Expo was a testament to the guidance of the Principal, the hard work of the students, and the dedication of the teachers.
