KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 02, 2024: Rich tributes were paid to former integrated Andhra Pradesh state Assembly Speaker Duddilla Sripada Rao on the occasion of his 87th birth anniversary celebrations in Karimnagar town on Saturday.
On this occasion, Collector Pamela Satpathy, Manakondur legislator Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Congress leaders Komatireddy Narender Reddy, Purumalla Srinivas, Padmakar Reddy and others paid floral tributes by garlanding the statue of D Sripada Rao at the RTC bus station complex.
It may be recalled that the state government had issued to celebrate the birth anniversary of former Assembly speaker as state function. Mr Sripada Rao was killed by the Maoists Naxalites on April 13, 1999 in the Manthani assembly segment.
The Collector and other district officials including Additional Collector Laxmi Kiran, DRO Pawan Kumar, RDO K Maheshwar, ZP CEO Srinivas, , DMHO Dr Sujatha, DWO Saraswathi, DRDO Sridhar and others paid tributes by garlanding his portrait at the Collectorate office complex. On this occasion, the Collector said Sripada Rao born in Dhanwada village of erstwhile Karimnagar district, had started his political career as a sarpanch of the village and became Manthani legislator on three occasions. He was also appointed as Speaker of AP assembly.
On this occasion, the Collector felicitated artists, poets, actors and others for their meritorious services in their respective fields.
