HYDERABAD, MARCH 10, 2025: “National priorities and perspectives shall take precedence to build a strong university,” said Prof. N. Naga Raju upon assuming office as the Vice-Chancellor of The English and Foreign Languages University on Monday, 1oth March, 2025. The Hon’ble President in her capacity as the Visitor of the university, appointed him as the Vice-Chancellor vide orders dated 06th March 2025 and consequently, Prof. Haribandi Lakshmi, Vice-Chancellor (I/c), formally handed over the charge to him today(forenoon).
Prof. Naga Raju brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as Vice-Chancellor of Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur, Odisha for four years, as Professor of English at Central University of Karnataka, Gulbarga, and Rajiv Gandhi Central University, Arunachal Pradesh. Additionally, he worked as an academic adviser at Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, and as visiting faculty at Sri Satya Sai University, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. His leadership and vision have been instrumental in the growth of the institutions with which he has been associated.
Hailing from Chatrapur in the Gajapati district of South Odisha, Prof. Naga Raju is a distinguished teacher and researcher in English literature. With over 37 years of experience in teaching, research, and administration, he has gained commendable recognition in India. He is an active researcher with several publications. His research areas of interest include eco and indigenous literatures, poetry, and postcolonial literatures.
Prof. Naga Raju’s appointment as Vice-Chancellor marks a new chapter for EFLU. His extensive administrative experience and dedication to academic excellence are poised to lead the university to new heights of achievement.
