KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 10, 2024: Leaders belonging to Goud community felicitated Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar, considering his contributions for the formation of separate Telangana state and also development of Karimnagar district, at a convention in Karimnagar town on Sunday.
The programme was organised Karimnagar Goud sangham, Sarvai Papanna Toddy tappers association and others. Several hundreds of people participated in the programme to felicitate Mr Prabhakar.
On this occasion, the speakers recollected the services of Ponnam Prabhakar as NSUI state president, AP Markfed chairman and Karimnagar MP. They reminded that Mr Prabhakar had risked his life for the passage of Telangana statehood bill in the parliament in spite of facing pepper spray attack in the parliament. They said that Mr Prabhakar as Karimnagar MP secured regional passport office in Karimnagar, started the FM radio station, introduced local city bus services in Karimnagar, introduced special train to Tirupati from Karimnagar railway station, secured Kendriya Vidyalaya in Karimnagar and many other developmental works.
They hoped that Mr Prabhakar would strive for the development of TSRTC and its employees welfare. As BC welfare minister, Mr Prabhakar would take all necessary measures for the upliftment of BC communities in the state. Former ZPTC member and Sarvai Papanna Toddy tappers association state vice president Gopagoni Saraiah Goud, Toddy tappers association Karimnagar district president Muthyam Shankar Goud, district leaders Bairu Ravi Goud, Burra Srinivas Goud, Srikanth Goud, Karthik Goud and others were also present.
Adarsha motor MD Burugu Satyanarayana Goud, former MLA Koduri Satyanarayana Goud, Congress leader Rachakonda Tirupati Goud, retired DSP T Sudarshan Goud and others were also present.
