Police scan vehicles by opening check posts on eve of elections in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 18, 2024:  Following the directions of Commissioner of Police Abhishek Mohanty, the Karimnagar district police on Monday evening launched a checking drive in various parts of Karimnagar town as part of implementation of Election Code of Conduct.

In order to check the flow of money, liquor and other gifts to lure the voters, the Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have launched the checking and also drunken driving in various parts of the town. The police said that the drive would continue till the completion of elections in the district.

On the other hand, Collector and District Election Officer Pamela Satpathy had also inspected the integrated check-posts set up in Arnakonda in Choppadandi mandal and observed the checking of vehicles. She informed the officials to install the CCTV cameras at the integrated check posts and intensify the checking process. Additional Collector Praful Desai, Tahsildar Narender and others were also present.

It may be recalled that the Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have seized Rs 6.67 crore cash from Prathima Regency in Karimnagar town on Saturday on the day of announcement of election notification.
