KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 20, 2024: The Jyothismathi Institute of Technology and Sciences (autonomous), Karimnagar in association with Telangana Academy of Skills and Knowledge (TASK) organised a placement readiness mentoring programme, aimed at preparing the final-year students for the forthcoming placement activities, on Friday.
Mentor Together Organisation, Hyderabad, Junior Programme Associate Swathi Adulapuram was the resource person. On this occasion, she emphasized the importance of preparation and adaptability in the evolving job market and she encourage the students to remain proactive in seeking opportunities and gave insights on dressing sense and communication skills.
She also explained about their organisation’s Mentor To Go app, is an Android and web-based career mentorship programme, which helps students from lower-income families access career mentorship from experienced professionals. This mentorship provides information, skills, and networks to help young people become work-ready.
“We had launched the Placement Support programme specifically for final-year students to prepare them for jobs and pursuing post graduation. There will be interactive topics on Goals, resumes, interview preparation, time and stress management, and specific industry webinars. Besides, industry webinars with mentors for additional guidance”, she stated.
JITS chairman J Sagar Rao and Secretary J Sumith Sai highlighted the importance of securing campus placements and expressed confidence in the students’ abilities, noting that their talent was a key reason why companies frequently visited the JITS for recruitment. He also stressed the need to organise more industry talks, skill enhancement workshops and mentoring programmes to support student career growth and to increase the placement index across all departments. Dean (Academics) PK Vaishali, CSE HoD Jegadeesan and others were also present.
