
HYDERABAD, JUNE 19, 2025: To help students and parents begin the new academic year with clarity and confidence, Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, conducted an orientation programme for classes IX on Thursday.
The session aimed at providing a clear understanding of academic goals, school expectations and collaborative roles in supporting students’ success. The event was spearheaded by the Principal, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, and aimed at creating awareness about the recent changes in the academic framework as per the New Education Policy (NEP).

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Lalitha Kumari elaborated on key academic reforms, including the introduction of Telugu as a compulsory language and Hindi as an optional language, in alignment with the multilingual approach promoted by NEP. She also highlighted the division of Mathematics into Standard and Basic levels, allowing students to pursue the subject based on their aptitude and future goals.
The session included a detailed explanation of the holistic development model, the importance of skill-based learning, and the shift towards student-centred education. Parents were guided on how to support their children through these academic transitions. An interactive question-and-answer round followed, allowing parents to seek clarification and share their feedback.
Chairman Polsani Sudhakar Rao, and Director Mr. Harihara Prasad conveyed their best wishes to the new approach. The programme concluded with an interactive session, where parents appreciated the school’s transparency, planning, and readiness to adapt to the new education reforms.
