RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 24, 2024: National Service Scheme (NSS) formation day was celebrated by the volunteers of Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for women in Sircilla with much pomp and gaiety on Tuesday.
The volunteers performed flashmob for the safety of the girl child. They also created awareness of the importance of conserving water and following the traffic rules by performing memes. The NSS volunteers presented a variety of cultural programmes including group dances, folk dances, solo dances. They also recited the NSS song.
Chief Guest of the programme, T Lavanya, Assistant Professor in Commerce and Vice Principal, GDC, Sircilla, applauded the students for coming to the forefront and taking part in such events. She said that the basic aim of NSS is to inculcate the social welfare thoughts in the students and to provide service to society without any prejudice.
She particularly mentioned humility as the tool to be used to lead a life which is instrumental for working in the service of humanity.
Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women Principal P Srinivasa Ramalingeshwara Sharma presented a formal welcome address. He briefed about the importance of NSS and the basic duties and activities performed by NSS volunteers for the community. Vice Principal K Lavanya, NSS Programme Officer V Swapna, Advisory council members Deepthi Reddymalla, G Swapna and other faculty members were also present.
