KARIMNAGAR, MAY 25, 2026: Rohan Hospital in Karimnagar town, a private hospital, has launched ‘Devi Putrika’, an initiative aimed at providing free normal and C-sections if a baby girl is born in their hospital for one year. The initiative aims to address concerns such as female foeticide, social stigma against girl children, and the declining gender ratio.
Dr Annamalla Sridevi, the fertility expert and gynaecologist, said that the programme is intended to encourage families to welcome the birth of girls and promote awareness of gender equality. She said that the scheme, which was launched on April 25, would continue for a period of one year.

Hospital chairman Dr Anamalla Naresh said that with this scheme of ‘Devi Putrika’, we launched a free service for the births of baby girls with a social cause in our hospital. We also utilise the programme to create awareness against female foeticide and in favour of ‘Beti Padao – Beti Bachao’, the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stated.
