CMD Prasanna Kumar Motupalli personally visited the flood damages caused by Fengal
CHENNAI, DECEMBER 12, 2024: NLC India Limited (NLCIL), responding swiftly to a request from the District Administration of Cuddalore to support measures to pump out flood water from the areas inundated by incessant rain due to the FENGAL Cyclone, stepped in to provide critical assistance on 02.12.24.
Cyclone FENGAL wreaked havoc across the districts of Cuddalore and Villupuram, bringing a torrential rainfall of 40 cm that caused severe flooding and submerged vast areas including significant parts of Cuddalore town. The devastation disrupted normalcy leaving the community in urgent need of support.
As part of its relief efforts, NLCIL deployed four high-capacity industrial pumps (25 HP) equipped with all necessary accessories to aid in dewatering operations in the most affected areas. To ensure effective execution, NLCIL mobilized a dedicated team of 12 personnel, including two experienced senior executives to monitor and manage the situation.
In addition to technical support, NLCIL supplied the affected people with around 37,000 food packets and 2,000 water bottles, providing timely relief to families grappling with the aftermath of the heavy downpour.
Today (04.12.24), to bolster the spirit of the NLCIL Flood Relief Team, Mr Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, CMD, NLCIL, visited the flood hit areas of Cuddalore and led the relief operations in the field by guiding the team in its dewatering activities in the waterlogged areas of the town. Later, he also met Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture of Tamil Nadu, Mr R.K. Panneerselvam to review the relief operations.
