
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 04, 2026: National Cadet Corps of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh states had an opportunity to hone their firing skills as part of the 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp-2 on the sprawling campus of Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Sciences at Thimmapur on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Thursday.
The JITS is hosting NCC Combined Annual Training Camp–II, which began on June 3 and ends on June 12, 2026, has a range of activities including drill, firing, obstacle course, debate, quiz, sports, group tasks, map reading, field craft and battle craft, yoga, cultural programmes and social service activities. A total of 420 cadets from various districts of Telangana are participating in the camp. In addition, 180 cadets from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will participate in the Inter Group Sports Shooting Competition (IGSSC).
On Tuesday, the cadets were training in the use of weapons at the firing range on the college premises. The cadets were trained on the opening and closing of weapons, and they were trained on the use of various weapons at the firing range.
The camp is being conducted under the guidance of eminent NCC dignitaries, including Col P. S. Singh, Group Commander, Nizamabad, Col A. K. Jayanta, Commanding Officer, 9 Telangana Battalion, Karimnagar, and Lt Col V. Krishna, Administrative Officer, 9 Telangana Battalion, Karimnagar.

The management of Jyothishmathi Group of Institutions, led by Chairman Sri J. Sagar Rao, Secretary and Correspondent Sri J. Sumith Sai, Principal Dr. T. Anil Kumar, and Dean Academics & Audit Dr. P. K. Vaishali, expressed their happiness in hosting this significant training camp. They emphasised that the institution remains committed to discipline, leadership development, and nation-building through NCC activities.
The camp aims to provide cadets with comprehensive training, discipline-oriented exposure, leadership skills, and a sense of national integration. Faculty members and NCC coordinators Lt G Jagdeeshwar, P I K Maheswar Reddy are actively guiding and supporting the students throughout the programme to ensure its successful conduct.
The management conveyed best wishes for the grand success of CATC-II and reaffirmed their continued support for NCC initiatives in shaping responsible and disciplined youth.
