RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, AUGUST 29, 2024: The Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Girls in Sircilla town celebrated the National Sports Day with great enthusiasm and gusto focusing on a series of sports events for students to commemorate the birth anniversary of Hockey Legend Major Dhyan Chan on Thursday (August 29).
The day is dedicated to the memory of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, who highlighted the importance of physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students.
The event kicked off with ceremonial lamp lighting by the Principal Ramalingeshwara Sharma. The significance of sports in holistic education was emphasized through the celebration. The students were reminded of Major Dhyan Chand’s contributions to Indian hockey and the need to emulate his dedication and passion. Vice Principal K Lavanya, Physical Director Devika and others were also present.
