HYDERABAD, AUGUST 19, 2026: Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupalli Krishna Rao has assured to resolve the pending issues of the traditional and folk artists of the state, including the clearance of pending Rs 11 crore bills at the earliest.
A delegation of the Telangana traditional and folk artists Joint Action Committee has met the Minister for Culture and submitted a memorandum on Wednesday. The JAC leaders said that the artists have participated in various government programmes, festivals and others from 2023 to 2026. But the government failed to provide the honorarium, travel expenses and other bills, they informed the Minister. They also said that the artists procure their own costumes for the programmes.
Responding positively to the artists’ requests, the Minister directed the officials to take immediate measures for the clearance of pending bills worth Rs 11 crore. He also assured pensions to the artists, identity cards and other welfare schemes. He also announced awards to the outstanding artists in various traditional and folk media.
The JAC leaders Srinivas Goud, Sravan Kumar, Oggu Ravi, Somaraju Srinivas, Himagiri, Krupadanam, S Ganesh, Muralikrishna, Rajkumar, Oggu Dharmaiah, Bhaskar and others were also present.
