KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 13, 2024: To ensure that a healthy and happy mother can deliver a healthy baby, a mass Baby shower (Sreemantham) programme was conducted for the expectant mothers as part of Poshan Abhiyaan programme by the Medical and Health and Women and child welfare departments at Mandal Parishad office in Huzurabad town on Friday.
Similarly, the mass Akasharabhyasam (initiation of children into the world of learning) and Anna Prasanna (first intake of food other than milk) were conducted on the occasion. Telangana State Child Rights Commission member Anumandla Shoba Rani was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Shoba Rani gave tips to pregnant women to be happy and stress-free for the delivery of healthy babies. One should be healthy, both mentally and physically, and visit the doctor for periodical checkups to detect abnormalities during the early stage and to prevent child mortality, she said.
She also informed the pregnant women to send their children to Anganwadi centres for primary education along with nutritional support provided at the centres. CDPO Suguna, Supervisor Rama, village Anganwadi teachers, womenfolk, SERP CRPs, hospital staff, Poshan Abhiyan staff and others were also present.
Similarly, Shoba Rani also participated in the mass Baby show, Aksharabhyasam and Anna Prasanna programme at Kanagarthi Anganwadi centre in Illandakunta Mandal. She empowered pregnant women about the importance of consuming nutritional food. CDPO Suguna, Supervisor Padma and others were present. She also inspected the MJPU school inquired about their well-being and informed about the Child Rights Commission to the children.
