KARIMNAGAR, DECEMBER 20, 2024: Members of the Mala Mahanadu Karimnagar district unit staged a dharna in front of the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar in Karimnagar town on Friday demanding Union Home Minister Amit Shah withdraw his controversial statement about Dr Ambedkar.
On this occasion, the Mala Mahanadu leaders set fire to an effigy belonging to the Union Home Minister and also they conducted milk abhishekham to the statue of Dr Ambedkar at the Court area in the town. Condemning the statements made by the Union Minister against Ambedkar in the parliament, the Mala Mahanadu reminded that because of the Constitution written by Dr Ambedkar Mr Narendra Modi aka ‘Chaiwala’ could become Prime Minister and Amit Shah could become Union Minister.
Shah’s words trivialise the historical and ongoing struggles of Dalits, adivasis, and other marginalised communities who see Ambedkar as a beacon of hope and resistance and his vision of social justice as a guiding force, the stated and demanded an unconditional apology from Mr Shah for insulting Dalits, who treat Dr Ambedkar as their God.
