KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 02, 2024: Poor coordination among the people organisations founded by Lok Satta Udyama Samstha founder president and former Union Bank of India (UBI) manager Naredla Srinivas, the birth anniversary of Seenanna, popularly called all sections of society for his crusade against corruption and social service for several decades, sans any celebrations in Karimnagar district on Saturday (November 2, 2024).
Lok Satta Srinivas, a crusader against corruption, succumbed to the deadly COVID-19 on February 15, 2021, while undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Karimnagar town. He played a crucial role in the protection of the rights of all sections of society through Lok Satta Udyama Samstha. He was instrumental in the formation of the Karimnagar Consumer Council (KCC) for the protection of the rights of consumers and filed several cases in the consumer court. He played a crucial role during the general elections by constituting Election Watch to ensure smooth and fair elections.
He was also instrumental in the formation of the Karimnagar Film Society and the construction of the Film Bhavan in Karimnagar town. The members of Film Bhavan and others planned to install his statue on the premises after his death three years ago but remained a distant dream. He formed the RTI protection committee and encouraged people to question the authorities about the irregularities by filing RTI cases.
After retiring from the service as UBI manager, Mr Srinivas completed his LLB and LLM only to help the society file cases in court and ensure justice for them. He had fought for justice against the victims of LIC microfinance victims by approaching the court, he fought against the corrupt ASI Mohan Reddy for reigning terror with his finance activities and terrorizing people and snatching away properties. He had exposed fake PhD (doctorate racket) by several fake universities and many more cases including when former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had issued land acquisition notification at his private house at Theegalaguttapalli on the outskirts of Karimnagar town for the construction of a helipad by approaching the court.
A Lok Satta Udyama Samstha activist and Film Bhavan member on condition of anonymity said “People are remembered only when alive and later they forget forever as is evident with Seenanna, who had helped all sections of society as UBI manager and also as Lok Satta udyama samstha leader’. Gone are the days when there used to be some values among the society, he said and found fault with his disciples for not even celebrating his birth anniversary and recollecting his supreme services to society.
Mr Srinivas was the founder of the film society and construction of Film Bhavan, but not the members are not even installing the promised bust-size photo on the premises, he said and ridiculed the Film Bhavan people for not even allowing to allow the Lok Satta udyama samstha, a voluntary organisation, from the premises of Film bhavan to help and serve the society.
