KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 16, 2024: Officials of the Lower Manair Dam (LMD) reservoir in Karimnagar town have lifted two flood gates to release surplus inflows into the reservoir from the upstream Mid Manair Dam on Monday.
Superintendent Engineer Ramesh lifted the two gates and released 3,000 cusecs of water into the river Manair downstream. The LMD was having 23.90 tmcs of water against its full storage capacity of 24 tmcs.
He said that they would open the floodgates as long as they receive inflows into the project from the MMD reservoir upstream. In the meantime, the people of the town have flocked in large numbers to witness the scenic beauty of the release of flood waters from the project floodgates.
