LIC of India celebrates 68th founding anniversary in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 02, 2024: The Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) of India has entered its 68th year of existence on Monday.

On this occasion, LIC Karimnagar Divisional Marketing Manager MRK Srinivas launched the Insurance Week celebrations by hoisting the LIC flag and lighting the lamp at the LIC divisional office in Karimnagar town. He also administered a pledge to the employees to rededicate themselves and strive for the progress of the LIC.

Stating that the main slogan of LIC is- “Yogakshemam Vahamyaham” meaning “Your welfare is our responsibility”, Mr Srinivas said that the LIC had emerged as the leading and largest government-owned life insurance and investment corporation in the country. He said that the LIC was collecting peoples’ savings in exchange for an insurance policy to promote savings in the district and also protect the capital of the people by investing funds into government securities. Above all it is providing insurance policies at affordable rates, he added.

Despite the entry of private insurance companies, the LIC of India is the market leader with 70 per cent of the share and continues its dominance, he stated and added that the LIC has eight zonal offices, 113 divisional offices, 2048 branches, 1580 satellite offices and several premium points and Life plus offices with around one lakh employees and 14.14 lakh agents and serving the society at their doorstep.

The Marketing Manager also said that the LIC had embraced technology and was able to provide hassle-free services to its customers. “Premiums can be paid by giving standing instructions to banks, through debit/credit cards, through Netbanking, IMPS, Wallets, Prepaid Cards, Apps, through authorized premium collection centres apart from payment in branches and satellite offices. Premiums can also be paid online using MyLIC App downloadable on Android and Windows phones. Paytm, PhonePe, GooglePay, Amazon Pay, and Mobikwik are some of the more recent app-based modes that are available to customers for premium payment digitally,” he added.

About the Corporate social responsibility activities through LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation, he said that they had buses worth Rs 57 lakhs to the Lions Charitable eye hospital, Rekurthi in Karimnagar and Jeeyar Trust residential school in Allampalli village of Nirmal district. He also said that the LIC had increased its area of operations in 14 countries internationally.

LIC policy-holders services wing manager Subhash Kumar, Sales manager Rajesh Khanna, various associations and union leadesr Raghu, Kamalakar, A Rammohan Rao, Raghuveer Reddy, Hari, Sathaiah, Butchaiah, Udayalaxmi. Gattu Rajaiah, policy-holder Mohan Reddy and others were also present. Union leader P Basaveshwar proposed vote of thanks.
