KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 11, 2025: The employees of Life Insurance Corporation of India, Karimnagar division, associated with the Insurance Corporation Employees Union (ICEU) has staged a dharna in front of LIC divisional office in Karimnagar town on Tuesday demanding recruitment in the Class 3 and 4 cadre besides projecting their other pending demands.
The employees in Karimnagar under the leadership of ICEU Karimnagar division general secretary Vaman Rao gathered in support of their long pending demands. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Vaman Rao stressed the LIC Management and the Government of India for immediate recruitment in LIC. He said the LIC has over the years, not only registered tremendous growth, but has also played a stellar role in channelizing the community’s savings for nation-building activities.
On this occasion, the ICEU leaders submitted a memorandum to LIC divisional manager Narayana. ICEU divisional president Rammohan Rao said that the LIC had increased its business by more than three times during the last two decades, but the staff was declining. He said that the recruitment of class 3 and 4 cadres would help in providing better services to the customers.
The ICEU leaders also demanded that the government should revive the recognition of the unions which was abolished during the time of Emergency period. They stated that the government should give recognition to the All-India Insurance Employees Association which commands more than 90 per cent of the membership. Divisional leaders Suryakala, Basaveshwar, Anupama, Srilatha, DO unit leaders Mahesh, Prabhakara Chary, branch-one leader D Sridhar, B Srinivas and others were also present.
