
Highly beneficial for students, NEET, and other competitive exams
KARIMNAGAR, JUNE 11, 2026: The new Intermediate First-Year Botany textbook, compiled by the Department of Botany at SRR Government Arts & Science College (Autonomous), Karimnagar, was grandly launched by the college Principal, Professor K. Ramakrishna. K. Surender Reddy, General Secretary of the Telangana Government College Teachers Association (TGCGTA), attended as the chief guest, released the book, and congratulated the authors.
The textbook was co-authored by Professor Thirukovela Srinivas, Head of the Botany Department & Controller of Examinations (COE), and Padala Tirupati. Keeping the needs of Intermediate students across the state in mind, the book has been designed in simple language, with scientific standards, and in accordance with modern teaching methodologies.

* *Tech-Integrated (QR Codes):* To help students leverage technology, a unique feature of this book is the inclusion of QR codes for additional study material. By scanning these QR codes, students can easily access video lessons, animations, supplementary learning resources, and model questions.
On this occasion, Chief Guest Mr Surender Reddy said: “In today’s competitive world, quality educational resources are highly essential for students, and this book will effectively meet that need. Designed in accordance with NCERT standards, this book will be immensely useful not only for the Intermediate Board examinations but also for national-level competitive exams like NEET, CUET, EAMCET, and others. It is highly commendable that government college lecturers are creating such quality educational literature.”
College Principal Ramakrishna said: “Our faculty is constantly striving with the goal of enhancing the educational quality of our students. This book, which integrates modern technology, scientific standards, and student-centric teaching methods, will greatly benefit students across the state.” He extended special congratulations to the authors, Prof. Thirukovela Srinivas and Padala Tirupati, for their hard work.
Authors’ Note
The authors stated that the book was designed with the aim of fostering an interest in Botany among students, improving conceptual understanding, and helping them prepare effectively for competitive exams. They added that they plan to bring out more innovative educational resources in the future.
The event was attended by faculty members including Mallaram Srinivas, Routhu Radhakrishna, Tahir Hussain, K. Kala Jyothi, T. Mahesh, Shyamala Chandra, Bunga Tirupati, M.D. Tajuddin, Swaroopa Rani, and others, who congratulated the authors.
