International Women’s Day: Workshop on Balanced diet and health camp for students conducted at SRR College in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 11, 2025: As part of the International Women’s day celebrations, the Women Empowerment Cell of SRR Government Arts and Science College in Karimnagar town conducted a workshop on a balanced diet and also a health camp for the benefit of students on Tuesday.

The camp was organised to address the health and wellbeing of students and focused on educating the students about the importance of nutrition, promoting healthy eating habits, and providing access to resources for maintaining a balanced diet.

Dietician Kachham Deepthi was invited as the chief guest for the program. In her speech, she emphasized that age is just a number and not a barrier to a woman’s progress. She stressed the significance of a balanced diet in improving both physical and mental health, enhancing decision-making abilities, and overall well-being.

College Principal Prof K Ramakrishna, who presided over the event, highlighted that women’s health is a reflection of the health of the entire family, making it crucial to prioritize their well-being. Women Empowerment Cell coordinator M Archana delivered an inspiring message, pointing out that women are excelling in all fields of research, from the heavens to the earth. She encouraged the students to draw inspiration from these women and strive for excellence in their own endeavours.

As part of the celebration, several accomplished women were felicitated for their achievements. Virinchi Swapnika and Sirichandana, who won gold medals in international powerlifting, Aishwarya and Pujita, who secured gold and silver medals in national games, G. Ruchita, who participated in the Republic Day Parade, and NSSP O B. Elizabeth Rani were felicitated for their outstanding accomplishments.

In addition to the workshop, a health camp was organized for the students, offering hemoglobin tests and other health assessments to ensure their well-being.

The event saw the participation of IQAC Coordinator Harijoth Kaur and other faculty members Praveena, Rajshri, Kalajyoti, Narmada, Jyoti Lakshmi, AO Umarani, and other faculty members, who all contributed to the success of the programme.
