RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, SEPTEMBER 17, 2026: Telangana Social Welfare Residential Degree College for Women (TGSWRDCW), Shatrajupalli, Vemulawada, celebrated International Microorganism Day with enthusiasm on Thursday.
D Harikanth, Head, Department of Commerce, Satavahana University, Karimnagar, attended the programme as the Special Guest. He highlighted the significance of microorganisms and encouraged students to understand their applications from a scientific perspective.
As part of the celebrations, students actively participated in various academic and creative activities. They presented posters, scientific models and speeches focusing on different types of microorganisms, their beneficial and harmful effects, and their applications in agriculture, food production, medicine and environmental sustainability.
The programme provided students with an opportunity to enhance their scientific knowledge, creativity, communication and presentation skills.
College Principal P. S. R. Sharma appreciated the efforts of the students and faculty and encouraged students to participate actively in scientific and innovative activities. Vice Principal K. Lavanya also appreciated the students for their enthusiastic participation and creative presentations.
G Swapna, Head of the Department of Microbiology, coordinated the programme and guided the students in preparing the posters, models and speeches.
Faculty members and students actively participated in the programme, making the celebration informative and successful.
