HYDERABAD, AUGUST 15, 2024: Students of Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, celebrated the 78th Independence Day with patriotism and gaiety on Thursday.
Freedom fighter, eminent educationist, linguist, poet and founder of Sister Nivedita Foundation Dr Velichala Kondal Rao, chairman and managing director of the school Dr Polsani Sudhakar Rao, secretary Polsani Rama Devi and guest of honour Prof Rafia Begum were accorded a ceremonial red carpet welcome by the students.
School founder Dr Kondal Rao hoisted the national flag and sang the national anthem. Later, the students rendered the melodious Telangana Anthem. Principal Dr Lalitha Kumar Thota welcomed the gathering and empowered the students about the importance of Independence. She also apprised the responsibilities of the younger generation to achieve this year’s theme of ‘Vikasit Bharath’
School Chairman Dr Sudhakar Rao Polsani remarked that it is a tribute to the unsung heroes who contributed significantly to the freedom struggle. Correspondent Hari Hara Prasad sent his greetings on the occasion. Prof. Rafia Begum notified in her speech, the scientific achievements to transform the nation to be a developed nation coinciding with the centenary celebration in 2047.
Students flaunted their physical fitness and mental alertness through a synchronized performance of Pyramid Formation and Taekwondo. Inspirational speeches were given by the head boy, Deputy head boy and Quiz club secretary in Telugu, English and Hindi respectively. A glittering infotainment was presented by the students of the four houses Anurag, Pragati, Prerna and Shraddha. Entire program demonstrated four Regional domains of India depicting the solidarity, harmony, various ethnic, cultural and Historical aspects of our great secular country. The whole premises of SNS reverberated with cheerfulness and ecstasy.
