RAMAGUNDAM, SEPTEMBER 26, 2026: NTPC Telangana Stage-II Unit-3 civil works commenced with an inauguration pooja held on Saturday (September 26, 2026). The Main Plant works for Stage-II have been awarded to BHEL as the main EPC vendor, with civil works being taken up unit-wise.
NTPC Telangana Stage-II comprises three units — Unit-3, Unit-4 and Unit-5 — each of 800 MW capacity. All three units are supercritical in nature.
The civil works package for Unit-3 covers the TG Main Power House, Boiler Foundation and ESP civil works. The project also incorporates Air Cooled Condenser (ACC) technology, which is expected to significantly reduce water consumption in the Main Plant.
The commissioning of these units is planned progressively, with the Stage-II units targeted for commissioning by September 2030.
