RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, MARCH 13, 2025: Students of the Physics Department of Government Degree College, Sircilla, conducted a successful research on the topic “Compact Disc as a Diffraction Grating”.

In this research, they analyzed how light diffraction can be demonstrated through a compact disc and how the distance between the rings in the disc can be determined with the help of laser light. This experiment helps in understanding the diffraction properties of light in physics.
This project has been selected for the state-level exhibition of the JIGNASA programme organized by the Commissioner of Collegiate Education in Hyderabad. The students of the Physics Department, led by Project Supervisor S. Krishna Prasad (Assistant Professor, Physics), presented the model at the state level meet.
On this prestigious achievement, College Principal T Shankar and Vice Principal T Lavanya specially congratulated the students who participated in the research and the project supervisor S. Krishna Prasad. He said that this project would help students develop an interest in scientific research.
