HYDERABADM MAY 15, 2026: As part of the Fifth day of Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika – Education Week celebrations, Library Day was organised in a grand manner at Government Degree College, Rajendranagar under the guidance of M. Himabindu, Principal. Faculty members, NSS Programme Officer S. D. Bhavani, staff, students, and NSS Volunteers actively participated in the programme on Thursday.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal emphasised the importance of developing reading habits among students and encouraged them to read newspapers, journals, and books regularly to improve knowledge, communication skills, and awareness of current affairs.
As part of the Library Day celebrations, the Principal, faculty members, and NSS Volunteers also visited the District Library to create awareness among students about the importance of public libraries and reading culture. Students were encouraged to utilize library facilities for higher education preparation, competitive examinations, and personality development.
On this occasion, the Best Reader Award was presented to a student in recognition of regular library usage and reading interest. Faculty members also motivated students to make effective use of library resources for academic excellence and competitive examination preparation.
The programme concluded successfully with active participation from students and staff, spreading awareness about the importance of libraries and reading culture among youth.
