JAGTIAL, JUNE 20, 2026: The Government Degree College for Women in Jagtial town celebrated the International Yoga Day with a spirit of health and mindfulness on Saturday.
Students, teachers and staff gathered for a yoga session to promote physical and mental well-being. NSS units organised the event under the guidance of instructor G Srilatha, who encouraged students to make yoga a regular part of their lives. She highlighted the significance of yoga in maintaining a balanced lifestyle and cultivating discipline among the youth.
Students, along with faculty members, performed various yoga asanas, demonstrating flexibility, focus and dedication. The college campus echoed with positivity as everyone came together to embrace the theme of the celebrations. The event concluded with a pledge to incorporate yoga into daily routines and a message of holistic health for all.
The College In-charge Principal, Professor Pramod Kumar, stated that yoga provides both physical and mental well-being and helps to improve concentration, peace of mind, and overall health. Subsequently, students were guided to perform different yoga postures. Vice Principal Chandrayya, NSS Programme Officers G. Srilatha, D Sujatha, N Sangeetha Rani, Professor Varaprasad, Ramachandram, Neeraja, Jyothsna, Veena, Tirupathi, and other faculty members participated in the programme.
