GDC Agraharam students win state-level JIGNASA second prize

Project on Impact of Rythu Bandhu Scheme on Farmers: A study of Rajanna-Sircilla district bagged the prize

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, APRIL 24, 2024: Commerce Students of Government Degree College, Sircilla (Agraharam) won State Level Second Prize in JIGNASA Student Study Projects Programme on Wednesday.

This is for the second consecutive time to win JIGNASA State Level Prizes by the Commerce Students of the College. Commerce Students- V. Sushma, M. Laharika, E. Rajesh, G. Yashwanth Kumar and P. Anirudh who have carried out a Study Project entitled “Impact of Rythu Bandhu Scheme on Farmers: A Study of Rajanna Sircilla District” under the supervision of Head Department of Commerce M. Malla Reddy, and presented the project through PPT at recently held State Level JIGNASA Student Study Projects Presentation and Selection Programme in Hyderabad and received a good applause from the Judges.

Significantly, out of 20 Commerce Study Projects from different Govt. Degree Colleges selected for the State Level Presentation, the Study Project of Commerce students of Govt. Degree College, Sircilla (Agraharam) won the State Level Second Prize. In the project the students have highlighted the findings of the study such as the present Rythu Bandhu amount is not sufficient, there should be a ceiling on a number of acres of land for the RBS and financial assistance should be provided to the tenant farmers as well. Students also suggested that Rythu Bandhu Scheme (RBS) amount should be increased to Rs 20,000/- and extensive awareness should be created among the farmers on crop insurance.

Supervisor and Students are going to receive Cash Award of Rs. 21,000 and Merit Certificates at an Award Function to be held very soon in Hyderabad. Fakeer Baba, AO MD.Amjad Ali, Nirmala, Ramesh Sharma, Gopi Krishna, Shanthi kumar, Radha appreciated  M. Malla Reddy and the Commerce Students for winning State Level Second Prize.
