Nivetha Thomas got the best actress award, best comedians Vennela Kishore and Satya
HYDERABAD, MAY 29, 2025: The first edition of Gaddar Telangana Film Awards-2024, named after revolutionary balladeer Gaddar, were announced on Thursday with Allu Arjun bagging the best actor award for the blockbuster movie ‘Pushpa-2’, while Nivetha Thomas got the best film actress award for ‘Chinna Katha Kadu’. The awards in 11 categories were declared only after scrutinising as many as 1,248 nominations. The movies that were released from June 2014 to December 31, 2023, were taken into consideration for the best movie category.
However, the awards were given to all categories for the year 2024. The awards would be presented on June 14. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ starring Prabhas got the best film award, while ‘Pottel’ and ‘Lucky Bhaskar’ movies got the second and third best film awards respectively. Nag Ashwin Singi Reddy bagged the best film director award for the ‘Kalki’ movie. Bheems Ceciroleo got the best music director award for the movie ‘Razakar’, which also won the best feature film award in the history, heritage and environment category.
Gaddar Telangana Film Awards Jury Chairperson and Veteran actress Jayasudha Kapoor announced these awards. Sid Sriram got the best male playback singer award for the film ‘Ooru Peru Bhairavakona’, while Shreya Ghoshal bagged the best female playback singer award for ‘Pushpa-2’. The best supporting actor award went to S J Suryah and Vennala Kishore, and Satya won the best comedian award for the film ‘Mattu Vadalara’.
Earlier, the Film awards jury committee, led by Actress Jayasudha Kapoor, Telangana Film development Corporation chairman Dil Raju, presented the award selections to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
