Former Choppadandi legislator Sunke Ravishankar continues his mission to serve orphan children

Distributes new clothes on the eve of Dasara festivities and serves a sumptuous feast at his residence

KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 06, 2024: Whether in power or not? Former Choppadandi Legislator Sunke Ravishankar is continuing his tradition of distributing new dresses to the orphan girl students and serving sumptuous dinner to them on the eve of Dasara festivities at his residence in Gangadhara mandal on Sunday.

Accordingly, he had invited all the 10 orphan children, who were adopted by him to his residence and shared pleasantries. When the girl recollected their plight of losing their parents, the former MLA consoled them and assured them he would be with them as their father and assured them of all assistance and invited them to visit his house any time they wanted as their maternal house.

Later, the former MLA and his wife Devena presented new clothes to the orphan children and dined with them sharing pleasantries and inquiring about their goals. The former MLA assured them of all assistance for their education.

It may be recalled that the former Choppadandi legislator was first moved over the plight of two orphan girl students after the death of their parents in Katnapalli in Choppadandi mandal during the outbreak of deadly Covid-19 in May 2000.  Ravishankar adopted ten children including eight belonging to Choppadandi constituency and two from Manakondur segment as they became orphans following the death of their parents. Besides providing education, these children are provided all assistance by the former MLA.

Residents of Katnapalli of Choppadandi mandal, Samatha and her sister Mamatha became orphan with the death of their parents. On coming to know about the incident, the MLA raised Rs 15 lakh with the help of philanthropists and deposited the amount in the bank accounts in their names. Samatha was provided a job in Gurukulam school while Mamatha joined Gurukulam school. They were also sanctioned a double-bedroom house. He also promised to perform their marriages.
Similarly, the former legislator had assisted an orphan Kelleti Manasa when she lost her parents. He also adopted two girls Anjali and Shailaja from Istharpalli village of Naranpur mandal. He also adopted Raju and Manisha, who lost their parents in Ryalapalli village of Gangadhara mandal and raised funds to the tune of Rs 7 lakhs and deposited them in their bank accounts.

He had also assured all assistance to Gurram Navitha, who lost her parents two years ago and provided financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh. Even in Manakondur mandal, Panjala Naresh and Madhupriya, became orphans following the death of their parents in Aradupalli village of Shankarpatnam mandal and providing all assistance for their education.

He also adopted Kommu Navadeep, who lost his parents in Kolimikunta village of Choppadandi mandal by providing financial assistance.
