

HYDERABAD, APRIL 25, 2025: The Academy is going to conduct 5th Convocation Ceremony of Post Graduate Diploma in Management (Agri – Business Management) (PGDM-ABM) on April 26, 2025, at 10 am at NAARM auditorium. The Chief Guest of the ceremony is Padma Bhushan Awardee Dr R.S. Paroda, who is Former Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR, and Chairman, Trust for Advancement of Agricultural Sciences, New Delhi. Dr A Janaiah, Vice Chancellor, PJTAU, Hyderabad, Mr. N.K. Rajavelu, CEO-Crop Protection Business, M/s Godrej Agrovet Limited and Dr Mangi Lal Jat, Secretary, DARE and DG, ICAR, will be the Guests of Honour during the ceremony. Around 176 students from the 2021, 2022, and 2023 batches are set to be conferred with their degrees.


About the programme:
The PGDM-ABM programme of ICAR-NAARM commenced in 2009 with approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The programme obtained accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in 2016 and recognition from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in 2023.
The minimum qualification for admission to the PGDM-ABM is a four-year bachelor’s degree from any Agricultural University or Institution in any discipline related to Agriculture and allied sciences recognised by ICAR. The students are admitted into the programme based on their scores obtained in the CAT/ CMAT examination of the current year, short essay writing, group discussion, personal interview, academic record and work experience. The course is a full-time two-year residential programme with six trimesters. So far, 14 batches have been completed successfully, wherein 453 students have passed out.
Intake of students is around 60 per batch, and the programme attracted students from 26 agricultural universities across 21 states, which fostered a vibrant learning environment wherein students gain exposure to various agricultural practices and perspectives.
Since its inception, around 629 PGDM-ABM graduates got a remarkable 100% placement in 100 leading agribusiness companies with lucrative salary packages. The average salary package witnessed an annual growth of 7%, reaching to current figure of ₹10.7 lakhs per annum for the latest batch to pass out.
The PGDM-ABM programme takes pride in its alumni who ventured into entrepreneurship, leaving secure corporate jobs to pursue their own agribusiness ventures. Four such alumni, including a woman entrepreneur, have successfully established businesses across diverse segments of the agribusiness sector.
During 2024, the PGDM-ABM students brought laurels to the Academy by winning Gold Winner medals -11; 1st Runner up – 3; and 2nd Runner up – 4 in the various B-Schools’ competitions. Similarly, during 2025, the students won Winner medals -7; 1st Runner up – 10; and 2nd Runner up – 4, which is a testament to the consistent pursuit of excellence, the rigorous academic environment, and the strong culture of mentorship and teamwork fostered at the Academy.
