An engaging and insightful session on English Learning Skills was conducted at Sister Nivedita School, Ameerpet, Hyderabad, on Wednesday. The session, aimed at enhancing language proficiency among educators, was facilitated by Mrs. Uma Maheshwari, an experienced resource person known for her dynamic approach to language teaching. The training was led by resource persons who focused on effective pedagogy, curriculum design, inclusive education, digital teaching tools, and the importance of integrating Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) into the curriculum. The sessions aimed to provide teachers with practical strategies and techniques to foster critical thinking, creativity, and engagement in their classrooms.

The session began on a lively note with an interesting ice-breaker game, setting the tone for an interactive day of learning. Educators actively participated in group discussions, vocabulary-building exercises, and language games that fostered both fluency and confidence in spoken English.
A variety of innovative methods were used to make the session both engaging and educational. Activities like the Taboo Game, Six Hats Analysis for creative thinking, and a Metaphor Game proved to be highly motivating and helped participants understand how such strategies can be applied in classroom settings to make English learning more dynamic.
Participants were introduced to the four key skills of language acquisition—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing—through a blend of traditional and digital tools. Emphasis was placed on interactive methods, such as role-plays, group tasks, and digital platforms, which are known to enhance comprehension, vocabulary, and communicative ability.
Educators left the session with renewed confidence and practical strategies to improve English-speaking skills and implement them effectively in their teaching environments. The session not only enhanced language competency but also provided meaningful insights into fostering communication skills among students.
As a token of appreciation, Mrs. Uma Maheshwari was felicitated by the Principal, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari, for her valuable contribution and commitment to professional development in education.
