‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’: Tree Plantation Drive conducted at Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE), Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 31, 2024:  National Cadet Corps of the Vivekananda Residential School (CBSE), Karimnagar town, organised a remarkable tree plantation drive titled ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A sapling in the name of mother) on Saturday (August 31). This initiative was spearheaded by the school’s NCC officer, Mr. M. Prashant, with active participation from the cadets, school staff, and parents.

The event saw enthusiastic involvement from the parents, including Mrs. G. Sunitha, Mrs. Rizwana Begum, Mrs. Madhuri, Mrs. Rajitha, Mrs. Amena Anjum, Mrs. D. Vena, and Mrs. N. Sudha Rani. The presence of the school’s principal, academic officer, and headmistress added to the significance of the occasion.

The drive aimed to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment among the students, encouraging them to contribute to a greener future. Each cadet was given the responsibility to plant and care for a tree, symbolizing their commitment to the environment and their respect for nature.

Addressing the gathering, Principal of Vivekananda Residential School Mrs. Renuka Balivada emphasized the importance of such initiatives in fostering environmental awareness among the young generation. “Tree plantation is not just about planting saplings; it’s about nurturing life and contributing to a sustainable future. Through ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ we aim to encourage our students to take an active role in protecting the environment. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the parents, staff, and students who have come together for this noble cause,” the Principal said.

The event concluded with a collective pledge by the students to take care of the planted saplings and continue their efforts in making the world a better place. The drive was a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education, where students are taught to balance academic excellence with social and environmental responsibility. The Chairman, Dr Sudhakar Rao Polsani and the Director of Academics, Dr. T. Lalitha Kumari appreciated the efforts of the students and parents.
