
HYDERABAD, JUNE 08, 2026: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, inaugurated the Two-week In-house Training Program for Teachers of Tribal Welfare Institutions, Government of Telangana, scheduled from June 8–19, 2026. The initiative is supported by the Governor’s Discretionary Grants, Lok Bhavan, Government of Telangana.
Delivering the Presidential address, Prof. N. Nagaraju, Vice Chancellor, EFLU, emphasised that the welfare of the tribal workforce is a concern for the governments as well as the universities. He noted that Telangana’s tribal population stands at around 10%, yet their participation and visibility remain low. He highlighted that this program not only strengthens teachers’ professional competence but also empowers them as good communicators for their respective communities. “Go back with skills to transform your students’ employability prospects,” he urged the participants.
The outline of the training programme was introduced by Prof. Anand Mahanand, Director, Centre for Consultancy and Language Training (CCLT), EFLU. Prof. R. Kishore Kumar, Dean Academics, spoke on proficiency and current trends in language teaching. The Vice Chancellor also formally launched the course materials prepared for the programme.

The inaugural session drew enthusiastic participation from teachers of tribal welfare schools, alongside senior faculty and administrators, including Prof. Shyam Rao Rathod, Proctor; Dr. Rajaram, OSD to VC and Dean Publications; Prof. Revathi Srinivas, module writers and moderators; and other faculty members.
