Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar, Manakondur MLA Dr Kavvampalli Satyanarayana participate as chief guest during the installation ceremony
KARIMNAGAR, NOVEMBER 07, 2024: Dr Anamalla Naresh took over as the President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) Karimnagar Chapter at IMA hall in Karimnagar town on Wednesday night.
Dr Siripuram Naveen Kumar has assumed charge as General Secretary, and Dr Challuri Vijay Kumar as treasurer. On this occasion, the valedictory was conducted for the outgoing IMA leaders, including President Dr Ram Kiran Polasa, General Secretary G Venkat Reddy, and Treasurer Dr Mangari Mallikarjun.
Minister for Transport and BC Welfare Ponnam Prabhakar participated as Chief Guest and Manakonduru legislator Dr Kavvampalli Satyanarayana was another guest. IMA state president Dr Kali Prasad Rao, Chairman IMA Building Trust and IMA Past President of Telangana state Dr K Shyam Sundar, IMA Telangana state past presidents Dr BN Rao and Dr Edavelli Vijayender Reddy, IMA Telangana state president-elect Dr P Kishan, and others were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar said that the government would take all measures for the protection of medical fraternity from the attacks on the hospitals and doctors. However, he also advised the doctors to follow the ethical values and protect the society.
Concerning the pending Arogyasri dues, he said that the government had released a white paper on the prevailing financial situation in the state. He said that the Telangana state was surplus when it was carved out by the Congress government in the year 2014. But, due to the BRS government and its illogical planning and administration, the debts had mounted to Rs 7 lakh crores in the state during the last 10 years, he added.
He said that the government was taking all measures for the clearance of pending bills in a phased manner to the grama panchayats, TG residential schools and colleges, pending DA to the employees and the medicines bills in the government hospitals.
On this occasion, the Minister felicitated Dr Bangari Rajani Priyadarshini on receiving the Telangana state IMA Women Doctor’s wing service award for the year 2023-24 for her social service programmes including the conduct of free IVF camps in Karimnagar.
