Singareni issues orders for pay revision on Coal India lines
Around 1,800 executives in E-1 to E-7 cadres to benefit
Financial benefits applicable from September 25
HYDERABAD, OCTOBER 19, 2026: The long-standing request of Singareni executives has been fulfilled following a commitment by Telangana Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Sri Bhatti Vikramarka. Singareni management has approved a pay revision on the lines of Coal India. Around 1,800 executives in E-1 to E-7 cadres will benefit.
The revised basic pay will be notionally effective from January 1, 2017. Financial benefits will, however, be applicable from September 25, 2026, the date on which the Singareni Board approved the proposal. The revised pay will be paid from the October salary onwards. Company Director (Personnel) Sri Gowtham Potru issued the relevant orders on Monday evening.
The revised basic pay for executives is as follows:
Cadre Existing basic pay Revised basic pay
E-1 ₹40,000 ₹60,000
E-2 ₹50,000 ₹70,000
E-3 ₹60,000 ₹80,000
E-4 ₹70,000 ₹90,000
E-5 ₹80,000 ₹1,00,000
E-6 ₹90,000 ₹1,20,000
E-7 ₹1,00,000 ₹1,20,000
Against the backdrop of pay disparities in Coal India, its executives had requested the implementation of the pay structure followed by Maharatna companies. The Union Ministry of Coal and Coal India management approved the proposal. Singareni executives subsequently appealed to the State Deputy Chief Minister to extend the same pay structure to them.
Responding to their request, Sri Bhatti Vikramarka directed Singareni management in July this year to ensure that executives received good news before Dasara. Singareni management formed a committee to examine the matter. Based on the committee’s report and with the Board’s approval, the pay revision was approved.
Leaders of the Singareni Executives’ Association thanked the State Government, Chief Minister Sri A. Revanth Reddy, and Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Sri Bhatti Vikramarka for considering their request and fulfilling the commitment. They expressed happiness over the decision and said they would work with greater dedication to meet the State’s energy needs and contribute to its development.
₹596-crore bonus recently announced for workers
Recently, the State Government announced a bonus of ₹596 crore for nearly 39,000 Singareni workers and employees as a Dasara gift. Deputy Chief Minister Sri Bhatti Vikramarka also recognised the contribution of Singareni contract workers and announced a bonus of ₹5,500 each. The issuance of orders for the executives’ pay revision is the latest step in this regard.
