

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 03, 2025: Counting of votes for the Legislative Council elections for the Medak-Nizamabad-Adilabad-Karimnagar Graduates Constituency and Teachers constituency began at Ambedkar indoor stadium in Karimnagar from 8 am onwards on Monday.


Election Returning Officer and Collector Pamela Satpathy opened the seals of the strong rooms where the ballot boxes were stored after the polling amid tight security and CCTV surveillance in the presence of observers Budha Prakash Jyothi and Benhur Maheshdutt Ekka and the contestants and their polling agents.

Around 800 staff, including 20 percent reserve personnel, have been trained and deployed for the counting duties in three shifts to ensure smooth conduct of the process amid tight security arrangements. On Sunday, a mock counting exercise was conducted under the supervision of the Collector and Returning Officer Pamela Satpathy at Ambedkar Stadium.
After opening the strong rooms, the ballot boxes were shifted to the counting tables. A total of 21 tables were set up for the counting of Graduates’ constituency and 15 tables for Teachers’ constituency. Each table is manned by a team of four personnel including one micro observer, one supervisor and two counting assistants. The ballot votes would be counted first.
Unprecedented security arrangements by police in and around Ambedkar stadium by imposing prohibitory orders. More than 400 police personnel deployed for bandobust duties, including one Additional DCP, six ACPs, 18 Inspectors, 30 sub inspectors and other police personnel.
