KARIMNAGAR, MAY 19, 2024: Controversy is raging over the alleged suspension of three teachers in various parts of the Karimnagar district without any fault of them and unilateral decisions by the district educational department officials.
The education department had suspended teachers of Chigurumamidi mandal Nawabpet primary school teacher A Manga, Saidapur mandal Thanda primary school teacher B Sunitha and Primary School teacher in Fhakeernagar in Karimnagar town N Manjula. The authorities have suspended the teachers of Nawabpet and Thanda primary schools on the charges of migrants occupying the school premises for temporary shelter purposes. The Fhakeerwada primary school teacher was suspended on the charges of absenteeism without any information.
Sources said that the migrant labourers were taking shelter in the primary schools in Nawabpet and Thanda primary schools following its closure. Similarly, the Fhakeerwada primary school teacher also informed the authorities about availing medical leave following her illness well in advance.
How the education department can suspend the teachers without any proper inquiry into the occupation of the school premises by the migrants when the school was closed during the summer vacation, the sources said. Besides, the sources also said that the Fhakeerwada school teacher Manjula was literally bed-ridden and had submitted her medical leave well in advance. But, she was unnecessarily suspended, they complained.
The Teachers Union leaders have alleged that the education department had attained dubious distinction of suspending the teachers and headmasters without any reasons to impress the higher authorities concerned. The inefficiency of the higher authorities in the department had become a cause of concern among the teacher and headmasters working in various government and zilla parishad schools in the district, they stated.
