CM Revanth Reddy cautions Private engineering colleges

HYDERABAD, SEPTEMBER 25, 2024: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has cautioned private engineering colleges that the permissions will be cancelled if they do not plug shortcomings in their institutions to meet the requirements of the industry.

The CM was speaking after launching of a skill development course for students pursuing engineering and other graduation courses in Hyderabad on Wednesday. He said that Young India Skill University will also provide skill development training to the youth. Hyderabad will not only be transformed into an education hub, but also a destination for skill development training centre, he reiterated.

Stating that Telangana witnessed an abnormal increase in unemployment in the last 10 years, he said that the unemployed youth are deprived of jobs and employment opportunities. He said that the Peoples government took serious note of the growing unemployment problem in the state. It is the reason, the people’s government gave appointment orders to 30,000 recruited persons within three months of coming to power. Already issued the notification to fill 35,000 vacancies in various government departments. The government decided to fill another 35,000 vacancies in the next two or three months, he stated.

The unemployment problem will remain even after the government fills 2 lakh jobs in the state. The talented youth will not get job opportunities without skills. The government took the initiative to offer skill development programs for job aspirants. Three lakh students are completing graduation in the state every year. They are not getting job opportunities due to lack of skills to meet the industrial requirements, he stated.

The government held talks with BFSI to provide the required skilled workforce to the industries. Prepared action plan based on the proposals submitted by the BFSI. Launched this skill development program for students who complete the course before graduation.  Extending gratitude for providing the necessary funds for the skill development training program. Students will get jobs in the Banking, Financial service and Insurance sectors soon after completing the training programme, he added.

The state government’s mission is to provide skilled youth to the world. Some youths were addicted to Ganja and narcotic drugs due to a lack of jobs for the last 10 years in the state. Worrying about engineering graduate students are among those caught recently with drugs. Everyone have the responsibility of eradicating drug menace in the state. Creation of employment opportunities is the need of the hour to rescue youth from drug abuse, he stated.

Upgrading 65 ITIs into Advanced Technology Centers in collaboration with TaTa Technologies. Will upgrade all ITIs as ATCs in the next two years. Also paid special focus on strengthening of the engineering colleges. Our vision is to promote the city of Hyderabad as a destination for technical skills and a cosmopolitan city on the world stage. The government is seeking cooperation from all.

The government will establish a Sports University and Sports Academy next year. Will promote Telangana as a role model for the country. Students who studied in the famous Hyderabad Public School have become CEOs of big companies in the world. The government will seek the cooperation of such multinational company heads and move the state forward on the path of development, he added. Minister for IT and Industries D Sridhar Babu and others were also present.
