KARIMNAGAR, FEBRUARY 05, 2024: In a noble gesture, Choppadandi legislator Medipally Satyam has donated Rs 1.5 lakhs from his first month salary to provide evening snacks to the students preparing for the ensuing SSC examinations by attending special classes in the evening in all the government schools of his assembly segment.
Accordingly, the legislator handed over the cheque of Rs 1.5 lakh to Collector Pamela Satpathy in her chambers in Karimnagar town on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Satyam said that majority of students studying in the government schools to poorer sections. Recollecting his childhood days, he said that he had also studied in the government schools because of poverty and completed PhD in Osmania University.
He assured to take appropriate measures for the betterment of facilities in all government schools to help the poor students to study in comforts. It may be recalled that he had earlier donated Rs 30,000 to government junior college in Gangadhara mandal for providing evening snacks for preparation of annual examinations. Mandal Congress president Eppa Srinivas Reddy, Additional Collector Praful Desai and others were also present.
