Anand Mahindra is chairman of Young India Skill University: CM

HYDERABAD, AUGUST 05, 2024: The Telangana State government has appointed prominent industrialist and Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra as the chairman of the prestigious “Young India Skills University’ at Begarikanche near Mutcherla in Ranga Reddy district.

The Chief Minister made this announced in USA during his visit to mobilize investments to the Telangana state, sources said. During an interaction with NRIs at New Jersey on Sunday, the Chief Minister informed that Mr Anand Mahindra would assume charge as the chairman of Young India Skills University in two to three days. A few days ago, Mr Anand Mahindra has called on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in Hyderabad and held consultations.

It may be recalled that the CM had laid foundation for the construction of the state of the art Young India Skill University, which would come in public private partnership mode. Till the completion of the permanent buildings for the Skill university, it would function from Engineering staff college of India buildings at Gachibowli, Hyderabad. The university will offer over 17 courses in different verticals including Healthcare; Pharmaceuticals & Life Sciences; Artificial Intelligence & Information Sciences; BFSI; Tourism & Hospitality; Construction & Interior Design; Advance Manufacturing; Retail Operations; Renewable Energy; Media, Gaming & Films and Digital Designs to meet the emerging requirements so that youth coming out of the skill university will job ready. The University will offer diploma and degree certificates that will have recognition.
