

HYDERABAD, APRIL 13, 2025: Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Telangana, in collaboration with the Government of Telangana, successfully organised a padyatra (walkathon) on the eve of the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B.R. Ambedkar on Sunday,(April 14, 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from various educational institutions and youth organisations across the state.

The padyatra commenced from the Ambedkar Statue, Ghatkesar, and was graced by V. Ravi Kumar, Public Prosecutor, 11th Additional District Court, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries who lent their presence and support to the event included: S. Shiva Kumar Chari, Advocate, Hyderabad, Kaleru Ramoji, President, Ambedkar Association, Prabhakar Reddy, Inspector of Police, Ghatkesar, Ganta Rajesh, Assistant Director, NYKS, Telangana, T. Isaiah, District Youth Officer, NYK, Rangareddy.
The event was conducted in partnership with Samskruti Engineering College, Telangana State Junior College for Women, Budwel, Princeton College of Engineering and Technology, Ghatkesar, along with the active participation of Youth Club members, MY Bharat Volunteers, and local youth groups. The program began with a cleanliness drive, where participants cleaned the statue and surrounding area of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar as a tribute to his legacy.
The rally featured cultural performances by two official cultural teams from the Government of Telangana, with generous support from Shri Mamidi Harikrishna Garu, Director, Department of Culture, Government of Telangana. Over 400 participants took part in the Padyatra, which included the following key activities:
Garlanding the statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Padayatra to spread awareness, Reading of the Preamble of the Indian Constitution, Slogan chanting focused on constitutional values, Pledge taking ceremony reaffirming national commitment, Cultural performances and Cleanliness drive.
MY Bharat Volunteer Registrations. The Padyatra served as a meaningful tribute to the life and contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and helped reinforce awareness about the Indian Constitution among the youth.
