AIIEA demands Union Govt to withdraw 18 percent GST on Insurance premium

KARIMNAGAR, JULY 14, 2024: All India Insurance Employees Association (AIIEA) and Insurance Corporation Employees Union Karimnagar division has demanded that the government to withdraw 18 per cent GST on Life insurance premium.

At its 28th annual general conference conducted in Karimnagar town on Sunday, the meeting had passed certain resolutions including revival of Old pension scheme to all the Insurance employees, recruitment of Class 3 and 4 cadre employees, minimum wages of Rs 26,000 and recognition of AIIEA.

The inauguration session of the general conference was attended by SCZIEF general secretary TVNS Ravindranath and president P Satish, Joint Secretary G Thirupathaiah and treasurer R Srinivasan, Karimnagar division general secretary V Vaman Rao, president G Ravindranath and others were also present.

On this occasion, new office-bearers of ICEU Karimnagar division was elected unanimously. A Rammohan Ra as the president, D Suryakala as vice president V Vaman Rao as general secretary, P Basaveshwar, C Anupama, R Rajesham as joint secretaries and M Srilatha as treasurer. The meeting had soundly felicitated Ravindranath, the present president, following his retirement.

LIC Class-I officers association general secretary R Satyanarayana, LIC development officers association leader Vasudeva Reddy, Agents association leader GAttu Rajaiah, Karimnagar District Bank Employees Coordination Committee General Secretary Damodar, LIC OBC association leader Sathaiah, LIC Valik sangham leader Butchaiah, LIC pensioners association general secretary Lakshmikantham and others were also present.

Earlier, SCZIEF general secretary TVNS Ravindranath launched a scathing attack against the BJP government for seeking votes on religion and dividing the people of the country. Confining the BJP to 240 seats was a good sign for the protection of democracy, he stated.

He alleged that the government was diluting the LIC and encouraging the private sector and alleged that the government was least concerned about the welfare of the people of the country. He said that the LIC of India was still the leader in the insurance sector in spite of no support from the government.
