

Devotees taking Shiva Mala deeksha given Maha Shivaratri festival on February 26


RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, FEBRUARY 03, 2025: Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy devathanam in Vemulawada of Rajanna-Sircilla district was packed to the brim with the arrival of hordes of devotees to offer prayers to the presiding deities on the auspicious occasion of Vasantha Panchami on Monday.
Since the early hours, the devotees formed serpentine queues by taking a holy dip in ‘dharmagundam’ (holy tank) to offer prayers. The devotees competed to offer the traditional ritual of participating in ‘kode mukku’ (tying an ox) at the temple shrine.
Temple Executive Officer Vinod Reddy said that a total of 55,503 devotees had darshan of the deities at the shrine till 5 pm on Monday. He also said that the counting of hundi collections of the temple shrine will be conducted on February 5, 2025, from 8 am onwards.
With the ensuing Maha Shivarathri festival scheduled to be conducted on February 26, the devotees are taking the Shiva mala Deeksha at the shrine.
