KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 14, 2026: Women faculty members of the Government Degree College for Women in Karimnagar, under the auspices of the Department of Commerce, conducted Sri Varalakshmi Vratham in advance with religious fervour and devotion on the college campus on Friday.
Varalakshmi Vratham is celebrated during the Sravana month, which is a sacred Hindu festival dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi. It is widely celebrated by women for family health and wealth. The women faculty members enthusiastically participated in the programme and offered prayers to Goddess Varalakshmi with devotion.
The programme was coordinated by B. Rajani Devi, In-charge, Department of Commerce, who extended her heartfelt Varalakshmi Vratham greetings to all the women faculty members.
After the Vratham puja rituals, the womenfolk distributed vayanam (thamboolam) to married women, applied turmeric and kumkum and handed them a plate containing a blouse piece, betel leaves, fruits and traditional items while seeking their blessings.
